Addition and Subtraction
  • This web site provides a great resource for selecting the correct equation to go with the story (numbers less than 20).
  • This is a story about "Just" separating. It it read to the students and demonstrates counting backward.

Place Value

  • For practicing place value at all different levels, use this web site.
  • This funbrain site allows students to practice identifying place value and rounding numbers at different difficulty levels.
  • This web site lets students practice place value with numbers through the hundreds place.
  • Students can practice identifying ordinals at this web site .
  • Students can practice rounding numbers to the nearest 10's place here.
  • Students can click on expanded numbers at this site and then see what the number looks like in standard form.
  • Students choose the standard form of the number represented by base ten blocks at this web site.
Fractions
Money
Sequences
  • This web site helps students practice counting their 1's, 2's, 5's, and 10's sequences.
  • Students play games with missing numbers for counting by 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10.
  • Students can create their own patterns at this site.
Students find the missing number in these sequences: easy sequences; count forward by 1 (two-digit numbers); count forward by 1 (three digit numbers); count backward by 1; count backward by 2.
Students who can read, can work through this site to create a border for Brenda's bedroom.
This web site defines patterns and shows many examples. It has audio and is therefore great for all students.
Students sort animals according to different attributes at this site. Has audio, so it is great for everyone.
Students can practice matching the spoken numeral with the written numeral at this web site.
Students can practice counting to 20 at this site.

Students can count backward from 10 to 0 at this site.
At this site students can practice finding the number that is one more.
  • Students practice finding missing numbers in pieces of the hundreds chart these number grids. More difficult sections of the 100s chart can be found by replacing the 1 in the web address with 2, 3, 4, or 5.
  • Students practice counting objects and then select the numeral to match the number of objects at this web site (1-10).
This game allows for two separate levels of play. Students practice one-to-one correspondence as they count objects. Choose the level that is appropriate for your students (1-10).
Students are given a number and then must click on the correct number of animals at this site (1-10).
Students count objects found in the jungle and then click on the correct number (1-10) at this site. Students choose the set that contains the correct number at this site (1-10).

For students who still need help with shapes, try this site.
At this site, students match a number to the number of objects.

Geometric Terms, Vocabulary
  • Students match geometric terms with pictures at this site to uncover a hidden picture.
  • Students compete against the clock to match geometric terms with pictures at this site to play MATHO.
Measuring Length
Perimeter
  • Adam Ant demonstrates how to find the perimeter of a rectangle and students fill in the answer before progressing to the next problem. Students count units to determine the perimeter; shapes are irregular and students can choose the area. Practice finding the perimeter of squares given the length of one side.
  • Practice finding the perimeter of rectangles given the length and width.

Symmetry
  • Check out this web site for flag symmetry.
  • This web site has some neat symmetry illustrations and links. Be sure to check it out before using it with students!

  • This interactive Bobby Bear outfit lesson from NCTM is perfect for finding combinations.
Probability
  • This web site contains a generator for rolling a die and if you put in the number of times you want to roll the dice, it graphs the results of an experiment.
  • This is a cute game for determining the probability of an event.
Graphing
  • This web site allows students to gather data in a table and then pick a circle/pie chart that matches the gathered data. (Great standardized test questions).
  • Students can create graphs at this NCES web site.
